How you can be led by the spirit. 

 


Romans 8:14
          For as many as are led by the spirit of God they are the sons of God.
          The above scripture talks about those  that are led by the spirit. There are a lot of things you need to understand about being led by the spirit. In the later part of chapter 7 of the book of Romans the Apostle Paul explained how that he wants to do good according to his inward man, but find himself doing evil.

          People yield to sin or are not led by the spirit when the flesh is dominating them.

“ I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord so then with my mind I myself serve the law of God but with the flesh the law of sin”
 Rom 7:25.

He says that in his mind he wants to serve God but there is a resistance in his flesh.
          But I see another law in my members, warning against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members (body)
 Rom 7:23


He went further to say “for there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. (Rom 8:1)
Now if you walk after the flesh you will be condemned, but if you through the power of the holy spirit walk after the spirit you are justified.
The flesh is in enmity with the spirit.


The spirit, soul and body


          Firstly you need to understand the nature of man. Man is a spirit, who lives in a body and has a soul. Your soul is where your mind is located, it also includes your will, emotions etc.
          Your spirit is the real you. You are a spirit. You are not a body . when a man dies, it is his body that just died his spirit lives on.
          Your body is your house, your domicile. Your body is lifeless with out the spirit.


               Walking after the spirit

          To be able to walk after the spirit you need to put your flesh (body) under subjection to your spirit man. Ie not every desire of the body you have to fulfill.
          You would have to learn how not to yield to fleshly desire. For what the flesh wants is what the spirit does not want and what the spirit wants the flesh don’t (Rom 8:7)

          If your born again your spirit is saved ie you are a new creature (2 corinth 5:17) your soul will be saved as you continue to study the word but your body is not saved at all.
          As a child of God you have to continually renew your mind with the word of God. Christians opens a door to satan if they don’t renew their minds with the word of God.

          Get your mind saturated with the word. let your mind be full of God’s word. ( Rom 12:2)  says ,submit your body to God as a living sacrifice holy, and acceptable unto God.(Rom 12:1)


    Putting the flesh under

Apostle Paul explain how he trims his body in the 27 verse of the 9 chapter of first Corinthians
He says
          “but I keep under my body and bring it under subjection. Lest by my means, when I have preached to others I myself should be a castaway”
 1corinth 9:27

He brings his body into subjection. His body must have wanted to do something wrong. The body  always want things that are not consistent with the will of God. But you have to continually put the flesh under subjection and one of the ways to do that is by engaging yourself in a fast.


                          Doing the word

          When you are able to continually put the flesh under, it would also be easier to do the word. As you study the bible always see the bible as talking to you. Doing the word implies not doing what it says not to do only but also doing what it say to do.
Example in Romans 12:2
          Do not conform to his world but be ye transformed by renewing your mind.

What a doer of word does is to continually apply what he has read – he refuses to accept the standard of this world
He also ensures to transform his life by continually studying the word.

          Paying attention to your spirit. When God talks to us he talks to our spirit- God is a spirit ( John 4:24) therefore nobody who seeks to worship God effectively, does that outside of the spirit.
          If your spirit has not been trained to hear from God how are you going to pick directions from the inside of you. Remember God does not communicate with our soul, he does that with our spirit.
          Pay more attention to your spirit. From your spirit you receive the word of God you need.

          Below are some few ways you can begin to train your spirit

1.     giving the word of God first places 1 Peter 2:2, Acts 20:32
2.     meditating of on the word of God. Psalm 1:2, Joshua 1:8, 1Timothy 4:15
3.     spending more time to pay in other tongue. Jude 1:20, 1corinthians 14:2,4. (when you pray in tongues it is your spirit that prays).

Three (3) things you must do to be a successful Christian.

 


          Firstly  I want to start by saying that every Christian is a success. A Christian is one who is in Christ, who believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
          Who has taking the place of  Jesus on earth. The Christian has been blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly realm. (ephesians 1:3
          The Christian has been given all things that pertain to life and Godliness ( 2 Peter 1: 3)
The Christian has every thing to gain.

1.     learn to do the word- As a Christian you have to learn to do Gods word. Doing the word is not difficult at all but you have to be ready to do what the lord says to do. the bible says if ye be willing and obedient ye shall eat the good of the land. only doers of the word shall eat the good of the land. notice the above scripture says if ye be willing.
God wants us to be willing to obey. it begins with your wiliness to obey.

james 1:25 says
but whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continue therin he being not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work , this man shall be blessed in his deeds

james 1:22 says
    but be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

    If you want to be a success, than become a doer of the word of God not just by not doing what the bible says not to do but also by doing what the bible say to do.


2.     learn to prophesy –prophesy in this contest is not foretelling  but forth telling; saying what you want  to see. The bible says you shall have whatever you say. before you leave your house every day “prophesy” declare what you want to see for the day, week .
Always prophesy. As you go about your daily activities, prophesy.  Keep speaking the Word of God.

Ezekiel 37:4
“...prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them…”
Ezekiel prophesied  upon  very dry bones.( Ezekiel 37)
         Remember Jesus spake to the  fig tree. Prophesy  to the air, wind, Sun, chair, car, aprons cause they all have intelligence. Jesus spoke to the wind.

3.     learn to put the body under – This point is very important and some that have neglected it has gone astray. Satan and demons can work through your body against you. If you don’t put the body under you. If you don’t know the difference between the spirit, soul and body you may think your body is the real you. The real you is a spirit. Your body is your house, (a domicile). You have to continually renew your mind with the word of God (Rom 12:2)

 These scriptures instruct you on what to do with your body

1)    you must present your body a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1)
2)    you must crucify your mortify the deed, of the body (colossians 3:5)
3)    you must put your body under subjection to our spirit. ( 1 corinthians 9:27).

Keeping your body subject to your spirit 



1corinth 9:27 says
But I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

          The Apostle Paul says in order not to be a cast away, he puts his body under subjection to his spirit.
For everyone the body has to be placed in check.
For the fact that you are born again does not mean your body would not want to do those things you used to before you become born again (Ephesians 2:2).
 Most of the times what your body wants, is not what your spirit needs. so then you have to die to your body.
          It is so “because the canal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”
 “ so then they that are in the flesh cannot please God”  Romans 8:7-8
The bible says for us not to walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.

If you must be led by the spirit you need to understand how you can put your flesh under.

The word says as many as are led by the spirit, they are the sons of God, not as many as are controlled by their body or by  sensory perception.

Your body is your house and not you

 


          We need to understand that our body is not the real man, the real man is on the inside, Paul describes him as the inward man ( 2 Corith 4:16).
          Sometimes we tend to give too much attention to our body instead of the spirit man. 2 corith 5:1-2.

1.     for we know if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, and house not made with hands eternal in the heavens .
2.     for in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven;

2 corith 4:16 says

For which cause we faint not: but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

 Understanding this subject will help you to know how to deal with a lot of problems Christians face. Quite a lot of problems Christian says is the devil or demon is actually a flesh problem. Satan works through the flesh to dominate you – thus you need to always put your body in check. The bible says to put to death the deeds of the body ( col 3:5)
          Spend more time to build yourself ( spirit man ) because you are  a spirit, you have a soul and lives in a body (1 thes 5:23)

PROGRAMMING YOUR MIND


          The mind can be programmed to think in a certain way . People who just live their lives and never does anything consciously about their lives, always carries the programming of the place they live.
          People who does not programme their mind always carries the mindset of the society they live in. But you can decide to begin to think a certain way.(the way of success)

Ø     Whatever you want to become, all you need do is get materials in that area and begin to feed on them in a continual way. Find out exactly how you want to think-get books that are consistent in that area.

Ø     Develop a plan of action – those that plan are always better off than those that don’t. write out your plan of action with respect to time.


Ø     Action begin to do those things you have written down. You are the one who wants to be successful. Until you take actions nothing will change. Until you understand that point, nothing is going to change in life. Action is my second way to refer to practical wisdom. He that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is a sin.

success is predictable. it is as a result of doing the right things over and over again.

HOW TO MANAGE YOUR MIND



Are  you aware that you can manage your mind? Yes you can. 

Your mind is the door way to your spirit before anything must have dominated you it must have overpowered your mind and thereby having access to you. You may not be able to stop thoughts from coming to you but you can choose which one stays or which one goes.
          The bible, tells us the importance of closing the door against the enemy from our mind. Are you aware that Satan can speak to your mind. And he can make you think it is your thinking.
          The bible said for us to renew our mind with the word of God
“and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God”
(Romans 12:2)

 managing your mind is one of the most important thing a Christian should always do. You see what you think, is influenced by what you hear, what you see, What you Read etc

          Anything that goes into you as information has to go in through your mind. If you are dominated by fear if must be that you have allowed the thought of fear to prevail in your mind. It’s also the same thing if you are dominated by poverty, sickness etc.

          To manage your thinking there are certain things you shouldn’t give a  place in your mind. As soon as they are coming into your mind, you send them out.
          You may not be able to stop a bird from flying over your head but you   sure can stop it from building a nest in your head.
Thoughts will always come, but there is a way or test all thought needs to pass through. which after thoughts that does not passes the test is not permitted to stay in your mind.
          This is one of the major reason why people who after given their hearts to Christ goes back again and sins. Because they were not taught on how to grow in Christ.
          When a sinner gives his heart to Christ, it was his spirit that became born again, his mind is not born again but will be saved as he continually give himself to the Word - the bible says as new born babes to receive the engrafted word which is able to save your souls,(James 1:21)
          Your body is not born again-you have to put your body under subjection. present your body to God, that’s your reasonable service.(romans 12:1)
          The rules on how to manage your mind can be found in Philippians 4:8


“finally brethren , what so ever things are true, what so ever things are honest what so ever things are just, what so ever things pure, what so ever things are lovely, what so ever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

(Philippians 4:8)


          The rules are eight (8). All thought has to go through the scrutiny of the word. It has to be true, honest, just, pure, lovely, Good report, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise.
          Therefore anything you are thinking about that does not meet these requirement is a garbage into your system or a poison.
          Nobody would be fully aware what a particular substance is poisonous and still goes a head to eat it. A lot of people feed their spirit man with poison. Where you are today is a function of your mind. Your personality is the expression of your mind, and as a Christian, you must learn how to manage your mind to produce excellence.

Getting souls to believe the Gospel requires more than just Going out to talk them into believing in Jesus, it also requires serious intersection. the word of God lets us know that the god of this world has blinded the heart of of men that they may not believe the Gospel of our lord Jesus Christ (2 corinth 4:4). therefore it is our responsibility to pray out souls from the kingdom of darkness.

As ambassadors of Christ on the earth our first responsibility is to win souls for Christ. For God has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation  and to successfully do that you have to begin with prayer. We urge you therefore to begin to intercede for the souls of men all around the world and that utterance be given to the light crew, that they have all the zeal and knowledge they require to preach the Gospel every where and to carry out the task assigned to them.

Begin now to intercede for the souls of men, that their heart is opened to receive the Gospel of our lord Jesus Christ.

Getting Born Again


thank you for coming here.
say this prayer out loud where ever you are right now


" oh lord God, i come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. your word says, "... whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved" (acts 2:21) I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10: 9" that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" 
I declare that i am saved; i am born again; i am a child of God !  I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world(1 john 4:4)  I now walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!"

Congratulations! you are now a child of God.

Below are some of the characteristic of a soul winner.


  • love for sinner- A good soul winner loves sinners. You cannot win somebody you don’t love. God first love us even when we where yet sinners and he gave his only begotten son.(John 3:16)  If you must be effective in your outreach and campaigns. Then you must love your target sinners.

  • constant fellowship- A good soul winner must be in constant fellowship with the holy spirit through prayer – An effective soul winner must be a prayer person. If you are not fervent in prayer then, just be sure you will not be a successful soul winner. Prayers has to be made to the Lord for a successful soul winning campaign else all of your moves will be mechanical.

  •  sensitive to the holy spirit- A soul winner must be sensitive to the holy spirit leading. He must have trained himself to be able to understand exactly what to do at very point in times.

  • must be word full- he must be full of God’s word. He must be knowledgeable in the word.

  • must be very courageous and this comes by hearing Gods word (Rom 10:17). He must not be timid or fearful (2 Timothy 1:7).

Three (3) steps to winning any soul for Christ

 


There are three very vital steps to winning any soul for Christ. Any soul winner that wants to be effective in doing the work of the Lord must have to follow all of this processes whether the evangelism is a one on one , open air etc.
Soul winning is the primary work the lord has
 commanded us to do (mark 16:15, Matt 28:1
8-20.) And until you begin to win souls for the
 Lord you are not a doer of word.(James 1:22)
Any serious minded Christian should be about
 soul winning for the Lord.
Prayer-

prayer is the first step to become an effective soul winner
prayer is the number one thing you should know and practice. If you are not a consistent prayer person, you cannot be effective in your soul winning. You need to understand that the people you are trying to win already have a god (2 corinth 4:4). To be able to take them away from satan you need to be fervent. Another
importance of prayer in soul winning is that prayer can be made for a particular ( target ) soul. And this one is very effective. If special prayers and supplications are made for a particular soul, that soul will tend to be more yielding and will respond to the gospel.ie message of salvation.  

 We cannot underestimate or size the importance of prayer in evangelism.

       Message-

throughout the bible, men where saved as they heard the message of salvation. The next thing now is the message-what is your Message? When some people tries to win souls for Christ instead of using salvation scriptures to win the soul, they try to win the soul with things that they have heard or stories of some sought that is not backed by scripture. faith ( faith for salvation ) comes to the hearer by the word of God.
   Some even try’s to condemn the soul they are preaching to. When you are out for evangelism don’t condemn anybody especially on a one-on-one method, use scriptures like (John 3:16), (Acts 4:12) etc. and be persuasive. Rom 6:23, John 1:12,etc.
  
 Let them understand how God so loved them that he gave his son for them.
        When you are out for evangelism don’t argue, and also refused to be distracted remain focused on the mission. To become an effective soul winner you should be very conversant with scriptures. Study to show thy self approved
  As a soul winner never loose your temper while trying to win a soul for Christ.
        Follow up- 

your evangelism is not complete with out follow up. Apostle Paul followed up all of his souls. Evangelism is not complete without follow up. After winning a soul it is your responsibility to follow him up, feed him with the milk of the word, ensure that he is established in a church.
